Cheam Enterprises Inc. announces new Chief Executive Officer

Cheam First Nation, BC – Cheam Enterprises Inc. (CEI) Board of Directors formally announce Sam Minde as their new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective Monday June 6th, 2022.

Mr. Minde brings over 10 years of Executive Leadership in Indigenous Business and Leadership supporting Indigenous Nations’ self-determination. Sam served in past roles as the Executive Director of Operations for Ochapowace Nation, Chief Executive Officer for the Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc., and as an elected Councillor for the Ermineskin Cree Nation.

Early in his Career, Sam was driven to support his Nation, and led a team through the business development process of zero to fifty full time sustainable employment opportunities. Today, his is reminded that Indigenous Trade and Knowledge spans ocean to ocean and his work experience is proof to him our Indigenous Nations are rebuilding the networks of Trade and Knowledge.

Samuel reflected, “I am both honoured and humbled to be provided the role of continuing CEI’s vision and mission of business excellence. I am especially excited about the Cascade Skyline Gondola project which I think will e a business catalyst for Cheam First Nation and the Fraser Valley.”

The Board of Directors are excited to welcome Sam as our new CEO. Sam is a dynamic and passionate Indigenous processional committed to building authentic relationships that inspire and affect meaningful change. He believes in influential and empathetic leadership, values collaboration and the power of diverse views and experiences.

Sam assumes the CEO role from Justin Louis, who announced his resignation after 2 years as CEO to pursue an entrepreneurial endeavour. The Board of Directors would like to thank Justin for his incredible leadership and compassion for the community we serve. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
